Netizens particulary OFW’s are almost at the boiling point because of BOC’s (Bureau of Customs) implementation of opening Balikbayan boxes for inspection. At the height of this issue, an alleged Bureau of Customs employee is adding steam to the heat.
While BOC is being bombed with bad publicity, this alleged Bureau of Customs employee defends BOC in her Facebook account. The account was under “Roussel Osena Tan” , which was seen with comments pertaining to what lead BOC to do such examination procedure. According to her post, it all started with a fraudulent transaction where sender of the Balikbayan box falsely declared contents of the package.
Here’s the full text:
It could have been understandable for this Bureau of Customs employee to defend her employer . However, the comments that followed resulted to more agitated reactions from netizens.
Suddenly her posts started to target OFWs. Was is a retaliation?
As of writing, the FB page can no longer be searched.
Meanwhile, to cool down our heads from this Bureau of Customs predicament, here’s a parody from Mikey Bustos titled “Balikbayan Box” posted last 2013.
