Celebrity chef Anthony Bourdain dead at 61

Anthony Bourdain was found dead in his room today, Friday. His network, CNN confirmed that cause of death was suicide.

It is with extraordinary sadness we can confirm the death of our friend and colleague, Anthony Bourdain…His love of great adventure, new friends, fine food and drink and the remarkable stories of the world made him a unique storyteller. His talents never ceased to amaze us and we will miss him very much. Our thoughts and prayers are with his daughter and family at this incredibly difficult time” said CNN’s statement.

He was in Strasbourg, France to shoot for his CNN series “Parts Unknown.”

In 2017,  chef and TV host Anthony Bourdain visited the Philippines.

He tried and praised the Pampanga popular dish sisig.

I think sisig is perfectly positioned to win the hearts and minds of the world as a whole,” he said.

For his CNN series Parts Unknown Season 7, he tasted the food in Jollibee for episode 1.

Anthony was married twice. First with his high-school sweetheart Nancy Putkoski in 1985, and they divorced 20 yrs after.

Two years after the split, he tied the know with mixed martial artist Ottavia Busia. In 2007, they had a daughter named Ariane. Unfortunately, the couple parted ways wherein Anthony said it was partly because of his constant travel for work.

Last year he was said to have been romantically involved with Italian actress Asia Argento.
