Charo Santos comeback movie for an Int’l Film Festival

Star Cinema has announced that a Charo Santos comeback movie  will be competing for the 73rd Venice International Film Festival. The announcement was made today on Star Cinema’s Instagram (@starcinema).

Titled “Ang Babaeng Humayo”,  Ms. Charo Santos-Concio will co-star with one of ABS-CBN’s prime actor John Lloyd Cruz . The movie will be directed by Lav Diaz who was also the man behind the camera for “Hele sa Hiwagang Hapis”.  Other co-stars are Michael de Mesa, husband and wife Nonie Buencamino, and Shamaine Centenera-Buencamino, comedienne Kakai Bautista. Marj Lorico, Mayen Estanero, Romelyn Sale, Lao Rodriguez, Jean Judith Javier, and  Mae Paner.

Direk lav Diza and Ms.Charo Santos already had an initial meet-up for the movie. The two were very happy with the new project.

The film will carry the international title “The Woman Who Left “.  It is the only Asian Film included in the main competition of the 73rd Venice International Film Festival which will be held in Lido, Venice from August 31 to September 10, 2016.

This is definitely a Charo Santos comeback movie, for her last stint in a film was in 1999 with “Esperanza: The Movie” that starred Judy Ann Santos.
