Chokoleit’s remains brought to Davao City

Chokoleit’s remains was brought Davao City, his hometown. The remains arrived Friday night and burial is now being held at Cosmopolitan Memorial Chapel.

Jonathan Aguilar Garcia, in real life, Chokoleit passed away last March 10, 2019. He had an out-of-town gig in Abra for the Abra Kawayan Festival. Right after his performance, he experienced difficulty in breathing and was rushed to Abra Provincial Hospital. He died of pulmonary edema and heart attack. (Read:Comedian Chokoleit dies at 46)

In an interview with ABS-CBN, Chokoleit’s friend shared a story on the last time he saw his friend.
“The last time na nagkita kami ni Chokoleit noong pagkamatay ng kaniyang mother that was a year ago. Sabi niya, ayaw niya bumalik sa Davao kasi nasasaktan siya sa memories ng kaniyang mother, “

It was in 2009 when Chokoleit’s mother Erlinda Aguilar died in a fire accident in Davao. Their house in Coca Cola Village in Matina, Davao City caught fire and his 67-year old mother was trapped in the 2nd floor.

Kapamilya Bayani Agbayani  was said to have visited the wake. he was in Davao for the PDP-Laban rally.

Garcia family thanks those who helped and loved Chokoleit .

Viewing of Chokoleit’s remains is open for the public, the family however asks visitors to respect the wake.

There will be a mss at 2 pm on Sunday, which will be followed by the cremation rites.
