Cory Quirino resigns from Miss World Philippines franchise

After six years of being the the exclusive licensee and national director , Cory Quirino bids goodbye to Miss World Philippines franchise.

A text message was sent Inquirer, where Cory Quirino also serves as a Lifestyle columnist.

I have decided to relinquish the license of Miss World Philippines for both personal and business reasons…Thank you for supporting me all these six years, and for being part of our challenges and victories. I will never forget you,” she said.

There were several victories achieved during her time with Miss World Philippines. From 2011 to 2016, all of the beauty queens under her management got recognized in the Miss World stage namely – Megan Young (Miss World 2013); Gwendoline Ruais (2nd Runner-up); Queneerich Rehman (Top 8 in 2012); Valerie Weigmann (Top 25 in 2014); Hillarie Danielle Parungao (Top 10 in 2015); Catriona Gray (3rd Runner-up in 2016).

Who will succeed the Miss World Philippines franchise?

In her official statement released to Inquirer she said –

It will be assigned to someone else, hopefully a friend or associate whom I already introduced to [the Miss World Organization].” she said.

To [Miss World Organization President] Julia Morley, I extend my sincerest gratitude. I only have respect and admiration for the Miss World Organization. Inspired by Beauty With a Purpose, we are happy to leave behind a legacy–Miss World’s very own Beauty With a Purpose pediatric cancer ward at the Philippine General Hospital. Having served as license holder of Miss World Philippines for six years has been both memorable and fulfilling.”

After Miss World Philippines, Ms. Cory Quirino would be continuing on the major projects she left.

She would focus on promoting health and wellness using her column and radio program. Currently, she is a member of Rotary International District 3830, and the director of Red Cross Muntinlupa.
