Drunk police who allegedly hurt three civilians including a child was arrested.
According to reports, the drunk police was involved in a shooting incident in Quezon City on Friday night. The police allegedly came out from a bar and went straight to a fruit stand along Quirino Highway near Franco Street in Novaliches, to buy an apple. But instead of paying the apple, the drunk police allegedly shouted towards the fruit vendor, identified as Ricardo Abilla.
He then at a glance pulled out his firearm which is a 9mm pistol, and fired at Abilla. The vendor was hit on his hand, and a bullet also hit two civilians including an eight year old girl.
The drunk police was identified by QCPD Inspector Dennis Francisco as Police Officer 3 Edgar Nargatan.
Nargatan was assigned with the Regional Public Safety Battalion of the Police Regional Office 4-A (Calabarzon).
Further, inspector Francisco said that arresting officers found Nargatan slumped on a sidewalk as he was too drunk to stand up.
Because of incident, Nargatan is facing charges of attempted homicide and may possibly dismiss from police service.
Nowadays, incidents involving police and HPG’s were very rampant. It is just good to know that our government is treating every incident fairly and ensuring to charge who is at fault.
