Filipina from Dumaguete wins Miss Asia 2016

A Filipina beauty is once again proven as a certain Pinay from Dumaguete wins Miss Asia 2016. The pageant was held on Thursday at the CIAL Convention Center, Kochi in India.

The Pinay beauty is a 23-year old loan assistant from one of the country’s biggest universal bank. She is a business administration graduate and a native of Dumaguete City.

Trixia Maria Maraña bested 17 other Asian candidates in the Miss Asia 2016.

Her contenders, Miss Belarus Yauheniya Vasilyeva won 1st runner-up while Miss India Ankita Kharat won 2nd runner-up. Aside from the crown, Miss Asia 2016 received a cash prize and gifts from sponsors.

Maraña, is quite destined to be a beauty queen as prior to winning the Miss Asia 2016 crown, she has competed in several local and national pageants. To wit, she was former runner-up of Miss Tourism Philippines 2010 and Sinulog Queen de Kabankalan, she also joined Miss Dumaguete City 2009, Abuyog Queen of Leyte 2011 and Miss Negros Oriental 2015.

This year’s pageant was the second Edition of Miss Asia, which focuses  specifically on Asian and Eurasian beauties.

Meanwhile, last year’s first edition of the pageant won another Filipina, Alfre Marie Nathanile Dagle Uy who won 1st runner-up by Kanika Kapur of host country, India. Uy, 25 years old works as a personnel manager in a trading company in Dubai, UAE.
