Mobile services has something to do with the rampant use of social media nowadays. But what if your connection suddenly stops while you are in the midst of enjoyment with your smartphone?
Recently reported, Globe Telecom Inc. will temporarily suspend mobile services in Quiapo and the nearby areas for the next two days, following the recent blasts in the area.
According to reports, the Globe’s mobile services interruption is a directive from the National Telecommunications Commission.
“In compliance with a directive from the National Telecommunications Commission upon the request of the Philippine National Police, Globe Telecom will temporarily suspend for 48 hours mobile services in Quiapo and neighboring vicinities effective immediately,” it said in an emailed statement Sunday evening.
“This means that Globe customers within the said areas may not be able to access call, text, and mobile data services while the suspension of services is in effect,” it added.
In addition to the reports, the globe services interruption allegedly is connected with the twin explosions in the area on Saturday evening. The blast allegedly left two fatalities and injured six others. (Read: 2 dead, 6 injured as twin explosions hit Quiapo )
“We appeal for our customers’ understanding during this temporary shutdown of mobile services in the said area,” Globe general counsel Froilan Castelo said.
