Good news to the 281,000 old-age and disability GSIS pensioners or the Government Service Insurance System pensioners as they will be starting to receive their Christmas cash gift staring December 2016.
According to reports, an emailed statement from GSIS Officer-in-Charge and Senior Vice President for NCR Operations Nora Malubay-Saludares said the government has earmarked P2.67 billion for the cash grant.
Allegedly, GSIS pensioners who received more than P10,000 in 2015 will be given an amount equivalent to one-month of the current pension but at a maximum of P12,600.
Whereas. GSIS pensioners who received a Christmas cash gift of P10,000 and below in 2015 will be given an amount equivalent to one-month of the current pension up to a maximum of P10,000.
Reported further that the same computations will be given those who resumed regular monthly pension after December 31, 2015.
Meanwhile, Pensioners residing abroad and in the Autonomous Region of Muslim Mindanao, but have a suspended status as of December 31, 2016, are also eligible as long as they reactivate their status before April 30, 2017.
“They will receive their cash gift not later than 31 May 2017,” the pension fund for government employees said.
It has been also reiterated that retirees from 2012 to 2016 and GSIS members who were separated from the service from 2006 to 2016 before reaching the age of 60 are qualified.
On the other hand, survivors and dependent pensioners and retirees who received their guaranteed pensions in lump sums as well as those resuming their regular monthly pension after December 31, 2016 will not be entitled to receive the cash gift.
