Sulawesi, an island in Indonesia was hit with a magnitude 7.5 earthquake at around 3 p.m., Friday. Near Palu, there were other three quakes of 4.9 and larger magnitudes that were also experienced.These triggered a tsunami , and waves of 1.5 meters (five feet) hit beaches in the cities of Palu and Donggala. It was said that there were hundreds of people in the beach as a festival was supposed to take place Friday night.
According to reports, there were 384 casualties, 540 injured and 29 missing. The main airport in Palu was closed after the tsunami that posed difficulty in distributing relief efforts in the province.
Disaster Management Agency spokesman Sutopo Purwo Nugroho said that death toll may rise in the coming days.

It was said that it was taken from the top floor of a parking ramp in Palu, nearly 80 kilometers (50 miles) from the quake’s epicenter. In the video, it will be seen how the high sea waves smashed the shoreline and trampled the structures of the coastal city of Palu.
Part of the video was distorted as the person taking it had to ran for a higher ground. A woman screaming will be heard at the background audio. The footage also showed the sea water, carrying debris entered the streets of the city.
