After her phenomenal performance in China’s Singer 2018, KZ Tandingan is back in the Philippines.
She had a press conference this Tuesday where she shared her overwhelming experience with “Domino” singer Jessie J.
“Sa performance ko that night, grabe ‘yung naitulong niya sa akin, kasi grabe ‘yung pag-encourage niya sa akin. Sabi niya sa akin, ‘I know you’re very scared, this is something na ang laki, nakakalula, pero imagine na out of the many singers they could have chosen to be part of this show, kasama ko doon sa seven. Be proud of yourself. Don’t let the results define you. Just do your best, sing your heart out.’ KZ said.
There are eight contenders in this reality singing contest, which are all professional singers. Aside from Jessie and KZ, the other contestants are from China, Taiwan and Hong Kong. Audience for the ranking and who will be eliminated in that particular episode. The show is on its second season now.
According to KZ, when she was announced as rank 1, someone hugged her from the back and said” ‘I need to talk to you.”. She recognized the British accent and knew it was Jessie J.
” You know what, every time I see you I feel like you don’t know that you’re good. You’re so good.” were some of Jessie J’s few words to KZ.
Now on her second performance, KZ explained that its is a crucial moment for her. Her average score for her 1st and second performance ill be averaged and she must be in the top 4 to avoid elimination.
What will be her next song in China’s Singer 2018? KZ said “If given a chance, I want to sing Anak…”
When asked about the grand prize? She said she was unsure if there was money prize, but what she considers as a reward is being able to reach out to the Chinese market.
KZ will performe her week 6 performance on Friday.
