After his dominant victory with Timothy Bradley, is it indeed the last fight of Manny Pacquiao?
It was previously reported that his fight with Timothy Bradley will be the last fight of Manny Pacquiao. And with it being said, the Filipino ring icon is determined about his decision to retire after his fight with Bradley. Manny wants to focus on his family and political career going forward.
The legendary icon Pacquiao, 37, is seeking a Senate seat in the May elections after serving as Sarangani representative in the 15th and 16th congress.
Meanwhile, with his recent victory, boxing reporters couldn’t help but ask if he has changed his mind about hanging up his gloves for good. How was this question addressed? Is it the last fight of Manny Pacquiao?
“Let me enjoy first a retired life. If you ask me to come back, I don’t know. I have a commitment to my family. I made my decision already,” Pacquiao said in the post-fight press conference.
On the other hand, another reporter caught him off guard with an observation that it seems his family wants him to retire more than he wants it for himself.
The boxing champ thus smiled and paused before telling the reporter, “You’re good, huh.”
“My heart is 50-50 but I love my family, I honor my family, my kids,” the eight-division world champion admitted.
It might be the last fight of Manny Pacquiao, but he is not closing his doors for a possible return to the ring.
“Like I said, I might enjoy my retired life. I might come back. It’s hard to say because I’m not there yet,” he said.
“Right now my decision is to retire.”
