Lyca Gairanod sings ‘Tiny Bubbles’ as Nora Aunor

Lyca Gairanod once again graced the of “Your Face Sounds Familiar Kids” on Saturday impersonating the icon star Nora Aunor. This was after her energetic impersonation of pop superstar Tina Turner last week.

Lyca Gairanod, the first ever champion of “The Voice Kids,” sang the catchy tune “Tiny Bubbles” wearing a pink, shirt and skirt ensemble made to resemble one of Nora Aunor’s signature looks.

It was all known that Nora has these looks back when she was still making waves as a teen.

“Kuhang kuha mo iyong pagka-subtle ng pagkanta ni Ate Guy (Aunor’s nickname),” judge Sharon Cuneta told Gairanod. “Ang napuna ko lang, hindi ganun kalakas gumalaw si Ate Guy, medyo mahinhin siya lalo na nung bata pa siya.”

The performance Lyca Gairanod was therefore described by Gary Valenciano as a “caricature” of Aunor. “Parang cartoon character na sumobra pero Nora Aunor pa rin. I enjoyed so medyo magkaiba iyong view namin pero ako nag-enjoy talaga ako dito,” he said.

Ogie Alcasid was similar in his praise, adding that Gairanod’s nailed all of Aunor’s nuances. “Proud naman ako na mataas naman iyong bar (na na-set) mo ngayon,” he told the child singer.

Gairanod won last week but is still fifth in the standings behind AC Bonifacio. She is 13 points off the pace set by leader Elha Nympha.
