Mindanao Avenue accident: Honda car crushed by a Mixer truck

1 dead, 3 were injured in this Mindanao Avenue accident that happened Tuesday afternoon.



A 10-wheeler cement mixer truck tipped over a Honda Brio white car with license plate AOA 3301, crushing the latter almost flat as if it was a toy car. Aboard the sedan were members of the Ramos family namely, Ulysses Ramos, 34; Marife Ramos, 35; Eulariza Ramos, 12; Eugene Ramos 8, and Enrico Ramos, 4. The family members were rushed to Metro North Hospital, which is just nearby except for Eulariza who was brought to Quezon City General Hospital.

Ulysses Ramos, the father, unfortunately, died Tuesday night. While other family members sustained major injuries.

According to MMDA Spokesperson Celine Pialago, the mixer was traveling the southbound lane, when it lost control. The sedan was pushed first before the truck hit the center island.  The truck’s left wheels rolled over the center island causing the truck to lean to its right, where the sedan was located.

In the CCTV footage recorded by BJMP (Bureau of Jail Management and Penology) CCTV, it will be seen that another car in from of the Honda car was also hit.

According to reports, there was  “total truck ban” when this  Mindanao Avenue accident occurred.

Trucks were only allowed to use the EDSA Magallanes to North Avenue, Quezon City roads on Sundays and holidays.

The driver of the truck has been arrested and will be investigated.
