MMDA to investigate Kiki Challenge in EDSA

The video of a girl doing Kiki Challenge in EDSA went viral today and has caught the attention of Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA). Together with  National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) they are now locating the girl , who will be summoned because of the risky incident.

According to news reports, the girl in the video was identified as Micha Anne Gabuten.

“Siya nga po ‘yun si Micha Anne Gabuten. [We’re] coordinating with the NBI para sa address para alam namin [kung] saan ipapadala ang summon. Still working pa po. Kasi hindi mahanap sa CCTV, kasi we have to review the CCTV whole day kasi walang time and date na nakalagay” said MMDA Spokesperson Celine Pialago.

This Kiki Challenge or better known as In My Feelings dance challenge first became popular in the US and has gone global. It originated from as song by Canadian singer Drake, where people do a stunt by jumping out of a moving car and doing a dance on the street. A lot of accidents have been reported because of this dance challenge.

Now MMDA will initially pose a fine of P500 for Gabute for jaywalking and Php 500 for the driver for reckless driving.

However, if proven that the driver was the one taking the video, he will also be penalized for violating the Anti-Distracted Driving Act. First offense for this violation is at Php 5,000.

Meanwhile Gabuten has deactivated her social media accounts after the Kiki Challenge in EDSA video went viral.
