The Noven Belleza sexual assault case was reported to have been withdrawn by complainant in Cebu City Regional Trial Court (Cebu-RTC).
Last July, “Tawag ng Tanghalan” champion Noven Belleza became sensational when a fellow woman entertainer filed sexual assault charges. The 19 year-old victim claimed that the incident happened on the eve of Vice Ganda’s concert in Cebu. According to her statement, Belleza asked her to come with him to his condominium. After using the toilet, Belleza allegedly pulled her towards him and kissed different parts of her body.
“I pleaded, resisted, and shouted, but he continued kissing me in different parts of my body. I suffered bruises,” as stated in the affidavit.
The Kapamilya singer was arrested July 16. Belleza pleaded not guilty of the said charges. On July 19, he was released temporarily after he posted bail amounting to Php 120,000.
An official statement was released by ABS-CBN that time saying –
“Noven Belleza posted bail today in connection with the charge of sexual assault filed with the Regional Trial Court of Cebu City,” the network stated. “Noven asserts that he did not commit the crime charged and he will prove his innocence in the course of the legal proceedings.”
Last August 31, a one-page affidavit was submitted by the victim to Judge James Stewart Himalaluan of Cebu RTC for the withdrawal of the Noven Belleza sexual assault case.
In an article by pep.ph, it was said that the affidavit read-
“After my sober and soul searching assessment and analysis of this case, I have realized that I have reached the point that I am no longer interested in pursuing the case due to inordinately adverse effects it brought to me and my family…In my earnest desire to achieve peace of mind, I am permanently withdrawing my complaint against the accused.”
