Pursuant to Executive Order 181 series of 2015, qualified DepEd employees shall receive a one-time PEI (Productivity Enhancement Incentive ) equivalent to their one month basic salary.
In line with this, the Department of Budget and Management (DBM) has issued the Special Allotment Release Order (SARO) to cover the release of funds for the grant of the PEI for fiscal year 2015. An amount of Php14 Billion was released for the PEI granted to Department of Education after complying with the conditions stipulated under Section 4 of EO 181, s. 2015.
DepEd Secretary Armin Luistro FSC has already directed its field offices the payroll preparation of qualified employees.
PEI is described as rewards for exceeding agency financial and operational performance targets, and to motivate employee efforts toward higher productivity.
PEI Qualified employees based on Section 6 of EO 181, s. 2015 refer to those who “have (1) rendered at least a total or an aggregate of four (4) months of service as of May 31, 2015, including leaves of absence with pay, and who are still in the service as of May 31, 2015; and (2) obtained at least a satisfactory performance rating.” Employees who have rendered less than four months of satisfactory service as of May 31, 2015 may still be paid the full amount of the PEI upon completion of the four months and satisfactory service rating requirements before the end of FY 2015.
