PNP confirms 2018 banned firecrackers for New Year

Philippine National Police Firearms and Explosives Office (PNP FEO) has released the list of 2018 banned firecrackers .

If we recall President Rodrigo Duterte signed Executive Order 28  (REGULATION AND CONTROL OF THE USE OF FIRECRACKERS AND OTHER PYROTECHNIC DEVICES) last June 2017. Nagre-regulate lang naman ang (Executive Order No. 28) sa mga paputok at mga pailaw. Hindi naman sinasabing bawal. Walang sinabing bawal,” he said.

Supt. Roland Vilela also explained that “The local government unit has the authority, has the power within its jurisdiction kung i-allow ba nila o ipagbabawal nila,”

Last 2018 New Year celebration, a total of 191 firecracker-related injuries was reported. Health Secretary Francisco Duque said that the statistics went down by 77 percent compared to the average over the past five years (2012 to 2016).
