Following the request of the brother of a missing OFW in Saudi Arabia, President Rodrigo Duterte ordered a search operation.
The search operation for the missing Pinay maid was led by a team from the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) headed by Moh’d Noordin Pendosina Lomondot from the Assistance to National ng Office of Migrant Workers’ Affairs is in Saudi Arabia.
According to reports, the missing OFW named as Diosalyn Seva was reported missing since last year.
As such, Seva’s brother Sgt. Michael Joe Fabian, personally requested Duterte to look for his sister when the President visited him and other wounded soldiers at V. Luna General Hospital in August last year.
“Sometime in August dinalaw ni President Duterte ang mga wounded soldiers sa V. Luna Hospital. Isang wounded soldier na si Sgt. Michael Joe Fabian, ni-request niya sa President na sana ay mahanap ang kanyang missing kapatid dito sa Jeddah. So nag-commit si President Duterte na hanapin si Diosalyn Seva,” Lomondot said.
Based on reports that reached DFA, the missing OFW has gone last year and never have seen again after allegedly leaving her employer whom she accused of maltreating her and violating her contract.
“Ang purpose ng pagpunta natin dito ay para hanapin si OFW Diosalyn Seva. Si Diosalyn Seva ay pumunta ng Saudi sometime in October 2015. Nung March 2016 nag-run away siya, ang rason niya ay physical abuse, maltreatment at non-payment of salaries,” said Lomondot.
Lomondot’s team is now coordinating with local authorities in Saudi and has enlisted the help of various Filipino groups in locating Seva. They also contacted the recruitment agency in Saudi Arabia that deployed Seva, and the firm has assured the team of its cooperation, Lomondot said.
