Presidential Debate Controversy: The Mar Roxas Arrival

After the airing of the Presidential Debate last Sunday, February 21 that was watched by the whole nation, here comes a controversial video of the Mar Roxas arrival.

This Presidential Debate ( #PiliPinasDebates2016) that was held in Capitol University in Cagayan de Oro City is the first leg of the series of debates that will happen in months to come. It was attended by 2016 presidentiables namely Sen.Miriam Santiago, Sen. Grace Poe, Mayor Rodrigo Duterte, Vice.Pres. Jejomar Binay and of course DILG Sec. Mar Roxas. As we all know, Mar Roxas is the standard bearer of Liberal Party and is the dubbed as the administration candidate. The debate and Q&A  ran for almost two hours.

Surely it was indeed an enjoyable program especially Duterte’s candid answers and so as the feisty questions of Sen. Santiago. However, it turns out that there’s another interesting stuff  aside from the answers of our dear politicians, which happened prior to the debate proper.

A video of Mar Roxas arrival in debate venue has become the talk of the cybertown by netizens.

The said Mar Roxas arrival only runs for less than a minute, but several unpretty comments of those who have watched it has spawned in FB.

Nothing fancy about the video, for it only shows the arrival of Mar Roxas with his wife news anchor Korina Sanchez. The couple arrives in a white van together with their entourage.Just like the usual, they alight the vehicle, entered the venue and went inside an elevator.

But what struck netizens in this Mar Roxas arrival  is how the video captured a case of the evergreen question “Is chivalry really dead?”

Why is it so? Here’s the video from GMA News FB .

Hmmm…Looks like contrary to the advocacy of his VP running mate Lenny Robredo on Kababaihan? (#justasking)
