Sophia Ramos a Fil-Am teenager joins the list of four-chair turner for today’s The Voice Teens episode. 15-year-old Sophia sang a difficult song, Demi Lovatos’ “Stone Cold”.
While Sophia was approaching the part of the song with the high notes, coach Bamboo and Sharon pressed their button almost at the same time. Lea and Sarah did the same thing also. They were just seconds away from each other when they turned for Sophia.
The last note that Sophia Ramos sustained definitely impressed all the four coaches.
Lea commented that she felt that she ran out of breath. Sharon agreed to what Lea said and asked how many vocal placements Sophia did. She even jokingly said that Sophia’s vocals came from her insides to her split ends.
During her interview with the coaches, Lea asked what is the most difficult challenge she has encountered. Sophia shared how she struggled on cultural difference since she was born in the Philippines and moved to the US.
Here were the comments from the coaches:
“The thing I think that impressed me the most was facing you already. Kinakausap mo kami, oo nakikita namin, normal na teenager, in sneakers and dress, pero nung kumakanta, there’s a depth of emotion that I don’t see in a lot of 15-year olds anywhere” – Lea
“Alam mo ‘yung kanta mo kanina, your take-off was wonderful. I liked that when you climbed to your desired altitude, you just took it higher, and when it was time to land it, you did it perfectly. I like that,” Sharon said.
If I’m honored to be your coach, if you choose to be with Camp Kawayan, I would say we would check your limits, we’ll navigate songs, work on your strengths and your weaknesses as well.” – Bamboo
“Alam mo, fan mo na ako. Grabe. For a 15-year-old, ‘yung ganoong lalim, depth, ‘yung pinaghuhugutan mo. Emotional ‘yang kantang ‘yan, pero dapat matalino kang kumanta kasi ang taas taas. Hindi pupwedeng mag-crack ‘yung boses mo kasi once na gawin mo ‘yun, sira na lahat” – Sarah
