Stock Market February 23

Market open 7826.89 +1.50 points +0.02%. Down to 7,822.50 on profit-taking before recess.

Factors: Greece gets 4 months extension for bailout,  MPI issue P10B fixed rate bonds to mid-2015, Robinsons highest bidder for Mitsubishi Property in Ortigas, Ayala Land to target P40B net income by expanding and declares dividends, SMPH nets up 13% to P18.4B, MSCI Asia Pacific Index gains 0.1%, Meralco energy sales rose 3.2%, JFC partnered with Tourism Promotion Board, in addition, 4Q Net Income Rose 5.1% , net rose 12.7% to P5.27B, and to build 330 stores here and abroad.

Most Actives: UNI gains 23.08%,  SGI up 5.59%, RCL up 3.30%, MPI up 2.38%, AGI loss 1.59%, MCP down 0.58%, DNL down 0.54%,  SMPH loss 1.42%.

 

PSEi close 7,826.07 up 0.7 points at thin trade, still 15th highest record.

Market open 7835.54 +9.4 points or +0.12%.

Factors: Trans-Asia declared P0.04/share cash dividends, Meralco to borrow funds to reach P15B capex, Cirktek Holdings Philippine Corporation (CHIPS) reports 45% jump in net income, Jollibee downgraded by JPMorgan and Credit Suisse.

Most Actives: IS up 7.07% then down 1.82% UNI up 3.57%, CHIPS jumps 5.00%, Nickle Asia Corporation (NIKL) rise 3.19%, Security Bank Corporation (SEBC) gains 3.92%, Jollibee plunge 2.83%, IS down 1.82%, FED down 4.55%.

 

PSEi close 7,834.86 up 9 points or 0.11%, new record.

Market open 7853.17 +18.31 points or +0.23%.

Factors: U.S. stocks at all-time highs after  interest rate hike unchanged, Philippine Stock, Bond Exchanges to Merge in 3 Months, Inflation dipped 2.4% in January, SEC approved AirAsia’s takeover of Zest Airways Inc., PH 2014 Imports up 2.4% to $63.9Bn.

Most Actives: Jackstones, Inc. (JAS) up 6.15%, NIKL up 5.07%, ABS-CBN Holdings Corporation (ABSP) jumps 3.45%, Lopez Holdings Corp. (LPZ) up 1.73%, ALI up 1.76^, BLOOM down 5.27%, URC down 1.56%, JFC down 1.28%.

Factors: Japan shares outperform, Asia markets mixed, DNL projects P2.4B net profit for 2015, MPI net core profit up 18% to P8.5B, DNL 2014 net income up 27% to PhP2.0Bn, PH to be world’s 2nd fastest growing economy in 2015.

Most Actives: Xurpass Inc. (X) surpass 6.11%, Semirara Mining and Power Corporation (SCC) up 0.84%, MPI up 1.75%, DNL down 2.22%, RRHI slips 2.68%, JFC loss further to 2.77%, ALI down 2.12% JGS down 2.09%, LPZ up 1.25%.

Most Actives: UNI jumps 11.76%, JFC rebounds 3.51%, MPI up 2.31%, DNL down 3.33%, SM Investment Corporation (SM) drops 2.61%, SM Prine Holdings, Inc. (SMPH) down 2.28%, BDO down 2.57%, IS down 3.23%, X falls 2.87%.
