An NLEX van accident occurred earlier today killing 5 and injuring 10
people. A Hyundai H100 van flipped sideways hitting the rails of the flyover. The accident happened on northbound section of Candaba Viaduct in Apalit, Pampanga.
NLEX Traffic Control Center said that van flipped because one of its tires blew out. There were passengers that were thrown out of the vehicle when the doors of the van fly open after flipping.

The thirteen individuals who were on the van were identified as OFWs (Overseas Filipino Workers) going to Middle East via Clark International Airport . One of them was a domestic helper named Jessamarr Jonson whose flight was at 7:00 pm.
Victims were rushed to JBL Memorial Medical Center, Pampanga Premier Medical Center and ASCCOM Medical Center.
In an interview with ABS-CBN, Dr. Roden Mariano, surgery resident of JBL Memorial Medical Center said – “Noong ininterview po namin karamihan sa kanila tulog habang nagbabyahe sa sasakyan,”
Out of the 13 OFWs, five were reported as casualties in this unfortunate NLEX van accident.
There was a traffic build-up after the accident and counter flow was opened to motorists.
