Gary Lising passed away yesterday, May 31.
According to reports, he was found dead by Bugsy, his only son at his condo. The comedian’s son went to Lisin’g residence after he has not responded to texts and calls.
He was 78 years old and was married to Maris Paredes.
In 2009, Gary Lising suffered a heart attack and was confined to the ICU of Makati Medical Center.
He also underwent angioplasty more than once in 2012.
Lising was known for his green jokes. In the 80’s he was part of the gag show “Champoy” where he co-starred with Tessie Tomas, Mitch Valdes, Noel Trinidad, Cherie Gil and the late Subas Herrero.
Aside from comedy on stage and TV shows, he also wrote books. His jokes made it to several best-selling books like – “How Green Is Your Mind” (1999), “Golf, Erap and Other Four-Letter Word” (1999), “Lifestyles of the Poor and Unknown” (2008), “Confessions of a D.O.M. (Delightful Old Man)” and “Everything You Wanted To Know About Sex But Were Afraid To Ask Your Children.”
In 2013 he was featured in the Kapamilya Sunday show Rated K. There he admitted that he wanted another chance to do comedy. He shared that he has used up all his money he saved for his only son because of his ailment.
“To be frank with you, Korina, wala na akong pera… My ambition is just to see my grandson.” he said that time.
