Zanjoe Marudo nominated for Int’l Emmy’s

Kapamilya actor Zanjoe Marudo is nominated at the 2017 International Emmy Awards for the Best Performance by an Actor category.

This was for his performance in a Maalaala Mo Kaya (MMK) episode titled “Anino” that was aired October 2016. He portrayed the role of Victor who was robbed by the people he has helped. The highlight of the episode was the part where the character Victor experienced depression, causing him to experience hallucinations and delusions, such as seeing shadows. Eventually, Victor was diagnosed with a mental illness called paranoid schizophrenia.

Other nominees for this category at the 45th International Emmy Awards are Julio Andrade (Um Contra Todos, Brazil), Kennteh Branagh (Wallander, United Kingdom), and Kad Merad (Baron Noir, France). Winners will be announced in New York on November 20.

MMK’s official Twitter page posted a congratulatory message for Zanjoe Marudo.

In his interview with TV Patrol, Zanjoe thanked MMK for trusting in him. He mentioned that right after Big Brother, MMK was his first acting stint.

Zanjoe also considers this as a milestone not only as an actor but also as being a “Pinoy”. He is hopeful that he can go to the awarding and pose for a picture with his “bigatin” co-nominees.
